About the Role This is a
field-based position in Ontario with some responsibilities extending beyond the province. Moderate travel will be required. Market Access plays a strategic role in ensuring timely access to therapies by navigating both public and private payer environments. The team is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that support commercial success in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. The Associate Director of Field Market Access will report to the Director of Patient Access and will focus on building and executing strategies to secure, expand, and defend product access. This individual will foster strong partnerships with stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to create a positive business environment and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve timely market access for all products within the assigned region and across private payer channels.
- Develop, refine, and optimize patient access strategies and payer value propositions throughout each product’s lifecycle.
- Build and maintain a broad network of relationships with stakeholders—government, physicians, patient advocates—to influence national and regional reimbursement policies and initiatives.
- Create and execute robust regional access plans aligned with overall strategic and brand objectives.
- Collaborate with regional and national patient groups and other key partners.
- Lead initiatives related to Product Listing Agreements and manage payer negotiations based on local priorities and market dynamics.
- Act as a strategic advisor on reimbursement issues within brand teams and other cross-functional groups.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare policy landscape, including CADTH, INESSS, pCPA, and provincial decision-making processes.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in a scientific field) and at least 5 years of experience in market access or related areas such as HEOR.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian market access, health economics, and reimbursement processes is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years in field-facing pharmaceutical roles in Canada.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical and biologic policy, as well as private payer landscapes.
- Commercial/business acumen is an asset.
