We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Toronto. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the evolution of our infrastructure.

What will you do?

  • Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable software solutions for data processing pipelines.
  • Build and optimize data architectures for storage and processing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Prioritize work based on market intelligence, business goals, revenue potential, and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and enforce data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
  • Manage data infrastructure and services on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Document data workflows, architectures, and processes.
  • Cross-train team members to ensure coverage and reduce key man risks.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of software development experience.
  • 5+ years experience with ETL processes, Big Data platforms, Spark, and Hadoop.
  • 5+ years experience in Scala programming.
  • Deep understanding of Capital Markets and electronic trading flows.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with technical teams including developers, QA engineers, and business analysts.
  • Robust data and analytics background.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with centonization, Kubernetes, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL, and data pipeline design.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.
