Job Summary

This role is part of the Global Equities Strategy team at RBC Capital Markets. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for building & maintaining React-based components within the analytics platform being developed by this team. The incumbent in this role will provide information on the detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Lead the development of high-quality code, ensuring best practices and coding standards are followed

  • Develop tools for risk analysis and reporting, market data visualization, and parameter marking within Equity Derivatives group

  • Work directly with Traders & Quants on new functionality, from requirements gathering through implementation & delivery

  • Design innovative and performant solutions to meet the current and future needs of the business

  • Drive the retirement of legacy Excel/VBA & Python based tools

What do you need to succeed? Must Have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in front end development

  • Strong React/Typescript programming skills

  • Leadership skills and experience working with cross functional teams

  • Proven experience architecting and developing scalable applications

  • Strong communication & problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work directly with Capital Markets Front Office personnel

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of Equity Derivatives

  • Knowledge of capital markets and trading flows

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience with Grafana
