Job description

The Associate Director, Finance and Procurement, leads the preparation of all external and internal financial reporting, excluding budgeting and forecasting, and coordinates General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Student Accounts, and Purchasing. The incumbent monitors and reports on performance versus budget, administers College-wide financial reviews, manages the financial accounting of College trust funds, and oversees all cost centre expenditures. Additionally, they are responsible for the College’s procurement functions, policies, and framework.

Qualifications Required :

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • CPA designation and good standing with CPA-BC.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in mid to senior-level financial or accounting roles, including budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis. Management and supervisory experience in a medium to large public sector entity is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of budget development, financial accounting, forecasting, management, control, and reporting procedures.
  • Understanding of planning, performance management, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proven management and administrative skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with enterprise financial systems; experience with Workday Finance is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and relational databases for complex financial reporting and analysis.
