Job Summary

Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) is responsible for providing risk oversight of RBC’s trading activities, including counterparty exposure measurement, monitoring, portfolio risk analysis, and reporting.

As an Associate Director (AD) in the Exposure Monitoring (CCREM) team, you will:

  • Support daily monitoring of counterparty exposures against approved risk limits for derivatives and SFTs.
  • Provide oversight on the completeness and appropriateness of risk measurements.
  • Streamline and automate risk monitoring practices and enhance analytic capabilities.
  • Monitor portfolios for noteworthy trends/risks, contribute to CCR policies, and assess emerging risks.
  • Participate in reporting and analytical tool enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other groups on project development, including coordination, coding, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate risks proactively and provide comprehensive analysis to risk management levels.
  • Monitor, investigate, and escalate credit and collateral limit excesses as per policies.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses into specific portfolios and counterparties.
  • Identify gaps in risk capturing and reporting, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Drive risk infrastructure innovation, working with business, IT, and analytics teams.
  • Develop tools to automate processes and improve analytic capabilities for timely risk review.
  • Assist in implementing project-based initiatives.
Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 3+ years in a quantitative Risk Control role within a financial institution, understanding trading products and credit risk concepts.
  • Experience with Excel, Python, and SQL.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-have:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • FRM, PRMIA, or CFA certification.
  • Knowledge of derivatives and SFT products, markets, and risk methodologies.
