Overview:

Multinational Coverage is a key growth pillar of Scotiabank’s refreshed strategy, which entails delivering a differentiated and consistent corporate client experience across our footprint, placing the corporate client at the center of our service model, regardless of where they choose to do business.

The Associate Director, Business Management will support the SVP, Multinational Coverage, and CIB Leadership team as part of the CIB COO team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our business management CIB COO team, which has strategic importance and high impact for the bank’s growth from inception!

What You’ll Do:
Business Management
  • Champion a client-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Prioritize and drive cross-functional initiatives independently.
  • Collaborate with MNC team (e.g., Subsidiary Account Managers, country teams, and internal stakeholders) to enhance the value proposition for Multinational clients.
  • Oversee daily operations by partnering with banking teams and support functions.
  • Assist in drafting strategic updates for enterprise strategy and business development.
  • Design and develop reporting to monitor progress of MNC initiatives.
Regulatory and Controls
  • Strengthen the control environment by promoting understanding and adherence to governance frameworks, policies, and regulations.
  • Promote a unified governance framework across businesses.
  • Ensure responses to regulatory requests are clear and accurate.
  • Create efficiencies in controls application while maintaining a strong control framework.
  • Coordinate with compliance, legal, finance, risk, and other key stakeholders.
Business Head Support
  • Act as the right-hand to CIB COOs, representing MNC and CIB in key forums and decisions.
  • Develop relationships with the MNC team to understand strategic priorities and support business activities.
  • Foster an environment of effective operations, compliance, and risk management.
  • Build a high-performance team environment, fostering inclusion and development.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or Global Transaction Banking, with knowledge of non-lending products.
  • Ability to translate strategic priorities into operational and financial realities.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, team-oriented, with initiative and drive.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Work Arrangement:

This role is primarily in-office, with 4-5 days per week expected in Toronto, subject to change.
