The Work

The Associate Director, CDIC Central Operations will lead and coordinate the operational execution of the CDIC Program for all stakeholders across all covered entities (Equitable Bank, Equitable Trust, Concentra Bank, Concentra Trust). They will serve as the day-to-day lead of CDIC activities, acting as the central liaison across business units, product teams, and executive stakeholders. Supporting the Executive Sponsor and co-chair the CDIC Steering Committee to ensure regulatory compliance, risk oversight, and program performance, and oversee planning, governance, and status reporting for all CDIC-related deliverables and audits. This role will ensure effective program management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement, while maintaining alignment with all applicable CDIC By-laws, including those governing disclosure, data/system requirements, and premiums.

Program Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead the centralized execution of CDIC requirements and activities across product, finance, operations, legal, compliance, and marketing.
  • Maintain a master CDIC program plan including deliverables, owners, timelines, and escalation paths.
  • Actively participate in CDIC delivery meetings as required and chair the CDIC Steering Committee.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to executive sponsors, risk committees, and auditors.

Operational Execution

  • Monitor progress on 13+ core CDIC activities, ensuring deadlines (e.g., FID, Return of Insured Deposits, Differential Premiums Reporting) are met.
  • Ensure cross-functional ownership and collaboration on disclosures, testing, data readiness, and system governance.
  • Maintain documentation and evidence in line with audit and regulatory expectations.

Issue Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and escalate risks, issues, and blockers to the Steering Committee and functional owners.
  • Identify and implement improvements to CDIC-related workflows, controls, and procedures.
  • Coordinate audit responses, regulator queries, and annual policy reviews.
  • Lead the annual attestation process for nominee brokers and professional trustees and ensure timely updates to CDIC on trade names and product changes.

Let's Talk About You!

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 7–9 years in financial services or banking with a strong background in regulatory operations or compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs or regulatory change initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CDIC regulations and insured deposit operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of deposit products, data governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficient with tracking and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Confluence).
  • Excellent communicator and facilitator across all levels of the organization.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under regulatory deadlines.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and aligning cross-functional teams.
  • PMP, CRCM, Prosci, or related project or change management certifications are assets.

The incumbent will work a hybrid schedule, with in-office time spent at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
