We are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial-minded Cost Management Lead (Quantity Surveying) to help develop our cost consultancy practice. You will oversee cost planning, commercial management, and project delivery, while also contributing to system development, team growth, and creating long-term value for clients and the company.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead cost management services across a portfolio of high-profile construction and infrastructure projects.
- Oversee pre- and post-contract duties, including cost planning, procurement advice, contract administration, and final accounts.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, cost control, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive consistency, quality, and best practices in cost management methodology.
- Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and cost consultants, promoting professional development and accountability.
- Provide oversight on project performance, ensuring delivery aligns with client objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Support resourcing and capacity planning across multiple projects.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Lead proposal development, fee negotiations, and client presentations.
- Represent the company at industry events and within professional networks.
- Design and develop digital tools and data-driven decision-making in cost management and reporting.
- Contribute to new service lines, value engineering practices, and technology adoption.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and implement forward-thinking approaches to continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in cost consultancy, across various sectors.
- Proven leadership and project delivery experience.
- Strong commercial acumen, client-facing skills, and proposal-writing ability.
