About the Role
The Associate Director (AD) of the Black Student Centre (BSC) is an integral member of the Student Services Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) management team. The Associate Director (AD) oversees the Centre's strategic success, fulfilling its mandate, roles, and responsibilities. This role actively engages in the development and implementation of programs and organizational change initiatives that advance the institution’s commitment to Black flourishing and inclusion.
Working closely with the Director of EDI, the AD plays a crucial role in strategic planning for the BSC, ensuring that SFU fulfills its commitments to the Scarborough Charter on Anti-Black Racism and Inclusion and provides Black students with an enriching experience across physical, curricular, instructional, and extracurricular contexts. The position prioritizes the social and psychological well-being of Black students while promoting their holistic well-being and success through the implementation, management, coordination, and assessment of all BSC programs and services.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work, Education, or related social science discipline and five years of related experience in areas such as EDI, with evidence of management level experience with professional teams, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
