Our client is a bustling boutique Law firm located in downtown Toronto focusing on criminal, civil and family law litigation. They are seeking a dynamic and driven professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Criminal law to join their team.

Your new role

In this role as an Associate Lawyer, you will be responsible for conducting legal research, analyzing case facts, preparing legal documents, representing clients in court, and providing professional legal advice. You will collaborate with the legal team to build strong defence strategies and ensure the best possible outcome for clients.

What you will need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of criminal law, including DUI, assault, drug offenses, and traffic offenses, along with excellent research and analytical skills. They should be able to prepare persuasive legal arguments and written submissions and have experience representing clients in court and handling legal proceedings. A thorough understanding of the Canadian legal system and court procedures, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines are essential. A J.D. or LL.B. degree from an accredited law school and membership with the Law Society of Ontario are required. Prior experience in criminal defense or a related field is an asset.
