Description

About the Position:

The Associate, Client Portfolio Management will be a key member of the investment team, acting as the portfolio and product specialist and serving as the key link between the investment team and internal and external stakeholders. As an expert on Hazelview’s products and strategies, the Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) will ensure clear and effective communication of the company’s investment strategies, portfolio performance, and market insights. The role will support investment, client servicing, sales, and marketing efforts by developing detailed portfolio analyses, investor communications, and thought leadership materials to position Hazelview as a premier real estate investment manager while also contributing to the enhancement of the client experience. This fast-paced role demands a proactive individual who can work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Hazelview's private multi-residential investment solutions and the broader real estate market ensuring clear communication and understanding of our investment strategies, products, and funds.
  • Craft detailed reports and presentations on portfolio performance, market trends, and investment strategies.
  • Develop thought leadership pieces such as white papers, market insights, and industry reports to showcase Hazelview's expertise and provide valuable market insights to clients.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors and funds within the real estate investment market, evaluating their strategies, performance, and positioning.
  • Manage client and prospect inquiries promptly and accurately, delivering a high standard of service and responsiveness.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of investment and strategy data to provide insights on portfolio performance, market trends, and client-specific reports.
  • Assist with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs).
  • Collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders such as investor relations, marketing, sales, and FinOps to enhance client engagement.
  • Support the investment team in asset management, property valuations, acquisitions, property due diligence, and market research as needed.
  • Assist with reporting requirements, including annual budgeting and periodic reports.
  • Provide support to senior management on various assignments as needed.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in asset management or financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
  • Possess or working toward CFA or CAIA designation is considered an asset.
  • Solid investment-related client-facing experience

Qualifications:

  • Strong presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate difficult investment concepts to diverse audiences with varying degrees of investment expertise.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
