Job Description

As an Associate, you will lead independent pieces of work that contribute to key deliverables and initiatives for your department, including supporting operational and financial activities. You will also help provide strategic recommendations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive growth, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor solutions, ensuring long-term success and sustainability.

Team Description

The Business Management (BM) team within the Total Fund Management department supports the department on key operational focuses including talent and culture, business & financial planning, governance, compliance, and project management. BM acts in support of the department’s focus of managing total fund activities across all investment horizons where we have a dynamic and direct impact on the Fund’s overall performance.

Accountabilities:
  • Effectively collaborate on key initiatives and connect with business management peers across the Fund to share and understand best practices.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and relevant information/analysis that facilitates better decision making and brings value-added insight to data received.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of organizational processes, systems, and financial data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Prepare and develop effective reporting and trend analysis on a regular and/or ad-hoc basis, utilizing various sources of information.
  • Assist with project planning and prioritization by collaborating within and outside the department to understand and document the scope, objectives, and resourcing needs of planned projects.
  • Track departmental objective progress diligently and systematically, creating summaries as needed for senior audiences.
  • Maintain and update existing departmental tools and systems, ensuring the department can efficiently and effectively store and share information.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering and provide testing support for new departmental systems and tools.
  • Support execution of key routine & ad-hoc initiatives, across investment projects, talent engagement initiatives & annual objective setting.
  • Act as key thought partner and execution support to departmental communications, which includes newsletters, events, and learning sessions.
  • Act as thought partner and drive strategic department priorities around workplace technology, knowledge management practices, and underpinnings for GenAI tooling.
Qualifications
  • University degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships effectively with people at all levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python, and Excel VBA) would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities and new challenges.
  • Ability to effectively manage timelines on multiple concurrent initiatives, keeping managers and colleagues apprised of progress and seeking assistance as required.
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment in tackling ambiguous problems, with a developed sense of when to work independently and when to seek guidance as initiatives progress.
