Job description

The Associate Branch Director works in concert with the Branch Director to oversee all aspects of the branch. Responsibilities include overall branch profitability while meeting strategic targets through sales management, human resource management, operations control, and supervision of compliance.

Provide leadership and support to Investment Advisors and support staff in hiring, training, and motivating. Assess performance, provide developmental opportunities, coaching, and feedback as required. Promote the firm’s corporate image by developing and maintaining business relationships within RBC Financial Group and the local community.

What will you do?
  • Manage and supervise all compliance issues daily.
  • Communicate effectively via weekly sales meetings, support meetings, and team meetings.
  • Engage in high-performance coaching with each Investment Advisor.
  • Support and develop the Branch Administrator through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • Motivate employees through personal development, recognition, and promotion.
  • Seek opportunities to improve the working environment within the branch.
  • Provide actionable feedback to staff, including tough decisions when necessary.
  • Resolve difficult problems effectively by addressing root causes and exploring beyond obvious solutions.
  • Demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills.
What do you need to do to be successful?

Must Have:

  • CSC and CPH certifications, with ability to complete BM license within 3 months.
  • Minimum 2 years of retail brokerage or related experience.
  • Post-secondary education (College or University).
  • Experience managing ambiguity and multiple operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to engage a diverse team including branch staff, middle office, and external partners.
  • Experience managing priorities and handling complex situations to drive success.
  • Decisive and results-driven mindset.

  • Background in Wealth Management Operations and the Financial Industry.
