We are seeking a talented Associate Actuary to join the Capital Reinsurance and Solutions team in Newport Beach, CA; Omaha, NE; or Toronto office.

Job Overview

Supporting Pacific Life’s growth by developing and implementing capital solutions aligned with the company's financial objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the pricing and implementation of new affiliate reinsurance transactions, collaborating across divisions and teams.
  2. Providing modeling support for annual planning and forecasting activities.
  3. Supporting reporting on financial, regulatory, and stress testing aspects of reinsurance transactions.
  4. Analyzing and reporting on existing capital reinsurance treaties.
  5. Assisting with strategic capital structuring projects.
  6. Enhancing models and tools for pricing, forecasting, and reporting to improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience.
  • Near-ASA to ASA designation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and solve minor issues.
  • Strong modeling and technical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance structures, economic capital, BMA concepts, ALM, or pricing concepts.
