As an Associate Account Manager, you will be a product consultant in the Surgical product portfolio, specializing in Hip and Knee Arthroscopy, Trauma, and Robotics.

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Associate Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing the defined business categories within the Orthopedics Business Unit in the assigned territory. Ensures access to our technologies for patients by providing outstanding service to our customers.
- Deliver the Orthopedics sales targets in cooperation with the other sales team members.
- Develop and present an effective territory/account sales strategy for management approval.
- Maintain market and account analysis models. Provide accurate business forecasts considering market size, pricing, competitive landscape, and other sources. Develop strategies to improve sales and increase market share for all product lines.
- Implement therapy promotional and sales programs in collaboration with marketing, education, clinical, and training teams.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the purchasing process to enhance the Smith & Nephew brand and image.
- Coordinate with Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and other Smith & Nephew teams regarding activities within the territory.
- Set guidelines at the country/district/territory level to optimize resource utilization and coordinate shared services.
- Contribute business and field insights to regional initiatives and support their implementation.
- Assist in executing Medical Education programs aligned with Sales & Marketing plans to educate healthcare professionals.
- Establish relationships with Key External Leaders (KELs) to understand product performance, market trends, and opportunities.
- Develop and implement tender management strategies for all Orthopedic RFPs, quotations, contracts, and inquiries to secure new business and maintain existing relationships.
- Participate in key professional congresses and events as needed.
- Provide procedural implant support to clinical teams as required.
- Be available for “on-call” coverage for orthopedic cases, including evenings and weekends, as scheduled.
- Manage stock levels, including consignment stock, capital equipment, and loaners within the territory.
What will you need to be successful?
- Understanding of selling dynamics in community and academic hospital settings.
- Ability to sell within a value-based healthcare system using CRM tools and account management strategies.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Travel Requirements: Within the designated sales territory with 2-4 overnight stays per month; occasional national travel for events and conferences.
May require “on-call” coverage for trauma cases, including evenings and weekends, scheduled by the Regional Sales Manager.
All field sales professionals must complete our credentialing process, which may include COVID-19 vaccination management, to gain access to healthcare facilities.
