Job summary

MLT Aikins in Winnipeg seeks an Associate Lawyer for its Corporate/Commercial and Mergers & Acquisitions practice. The role requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience and a strong client-service mindset.

The candidate will join a collegial team with close mentorship from senior lawyers to support client goals. Based in Winnipeg, the successful candidate will handle mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and related matters while contributing to the firm’s Western Canada footprint

Responsibilities

• M&A practice includes mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, divestitures, reorganizations, and leveraged and management buy-outs.
• Collaborate with clients and senior lawyers to deliver highest level of service.
• Mentor and support junior lawyers as part of the practice group.

We are looking for an associate with a minimum of three years of relevant experience to join our thriving Corporate/Commercial and Mergers and Acquisitions practices, based in our Winnipeg office.

Our area of mergers and acquisitions law includes mergers, acquisitions, takeovers, divestitures, reorganizations, and leveraged and management buy-outs.

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic corporate mergers and acquisitions lawyer with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, effective practice management skills and a pragmatic approach to serving clients. We are interested in candidates at all levels of experience.

The ideal candidate will also have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Banking and corporate finance
• Corporate reorganizations
• Corporate governance
