What is the opportunity?

As an Associate, you provide proactive sales support and responsive value‑based client contact for a team of Financial Planners. You are responsible for supporting the unit/team in achieving sales objectives by contributing to a differentiated client experience. In this role, you collaborate with partners across the organization to identify and meet client needs and goals, strengthening client relationships and making it easier for them to do business with RBC.

What will you do?
  • You are a strategic member of the Financial Planning team and will work directly with Financial Planners to provide pre‑ and post‑interaction enablement and client service and fulfilment in connection with their financial plan.
  • Maximise opportunities to effectively identify client needs, make referrals, expand profitable client relationships, and track and review progress against the team’s annual sales plan. Increase sales enablement for Financial Planners by assisting with preparations for client meetings, and supporting the fulfilment of credit, investments and everyday banking solutions.
  • You enable and educate our clients by proactively leading with advice, serving through Digital and by acting as a Digital Ambassador who keeps current on technology by building your digital IQ.
  • Exercise due diligence in following all policies and procedures, and identify and correct areas of operational risk.
What do you need to succeed?
Must‑have
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada, or the Canadian Securities Course)
  • Perform as a One RBC Advisor with a breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments and credit, with the ability to fulfill a robust Advice Experience on both personal and business needs
  • Strong client contact routines that build your and your Financial Planners’ calendar proactively, integrating consistent retention and anchoring activities to help the team achieve greater results
  • Flexibility, eagerness to learn, strong personal ethics, and a hunger for success
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, demonstrating strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to leverage your own capabilities, and those of the right partner in our ecosystem, at the right time, meeting client’s entire suite of financial needs.
Nice‑to‑have
  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial industry
  • Ability to provide increasingly complex everyday banking, investment and credit advice for both personal and business clients
  • Fully bilingual in French or Mandarin would be a strong asset
