We are currently seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager – Warehouse Operations to support daily operations and team leadership in a fast-paced, food-grade warehouse environment. This role will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to drive performance, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and contribute to a positive and productive team culture. This role is located in Cambridge, ONT.
Assistant Manager – Warehouse Operations Details
Assistant Manager – Warehouse Operations Responsibilities :
1. Support day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to processes
2. Lead by example on the floor—coordinating team efforts, providing guidance, and resolving issues in real time
3. Monitor and help drive KPIs related to productivity, accuracy, and safety
4. Assist with inventory management, shipping / receiving processes, and use of RF scanners and EDI systems
5. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including BRCGS standards
6. Communicate directly with customers via email and phone in a professional and timely manner
7. Maintain proper documentation and reporting as required
8. Help onboard and train new warehouse staff
9. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment
Assistant Manager – Warehouse Operations Qualifications :
1. 3+ years of experience in a warehouse environment (food-grade experience a strong asset)
3. Strong verbal and written English communication skills
4. Experience using RF scanners and a basic understanding of EDI systems
5. Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
6. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred
7. Knowledge of food safety standards and BRCGS compliance
