Our client is currently seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager with a strong background in warehouse operations, and project management. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in supporting and optimizing warehouse functions, inventory management, and driving process improvements in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment.

Job Description

The Assistant Warehouse Manager will work in close collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and help in managing and executing projects, such as process improvements, system upgrades, and efficiency enhancements. In addition, this role will contribute to supporting and optimizing all warehouse operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, efficiency, and on-time deliveries. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will help manage the team of warehouse staff, drive improvements in productivity, and maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all warehouse activities.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in the planning and coordination of daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Support inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Help optimize warehouse layout for improved product accessibility and efficiency.
  • Support training and onboarding of new employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Help with task delegation and monitor team performance to ensure accurate and efficient work completion.
  • Provide leadership and operational continuity in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
  • Take ownership of specific warehouse projects, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to identify and implement process improvements, increasing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing warehouse workflows and customer service standards.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:

  • Education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field*.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse/logistics management, ideally in distribution*.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in ERP software.
  • Experience managing projects related to warehouse operations, such as process improvements, inventory optimization, and system integrations.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist in all warehouse functions, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and team coordination.
  • Good communication skills in both English and French is preferred.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Different combinations of relevant experience and education may be considered.
