POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a passionate and rigorous Assistant Vice President to join our senior IT leadership team. You will play a key role in managing and measuring the performance of our Information Technology function. With the widespread adoption of digital solutions by BDC's clients and employees and the transition to cloud computing in recent years, the IT Performance Office has become a strategic position essential for the sound management of IT assets. This team plays an important role in maximizing the efficiency of our financial, human resources, and relationships with external partners.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Act as a key member of the senior IT leadership team.
Lead a seasoned and experienced team of professionals with expertise in financial management and technology vendor management.
Oversee the financial management of operational budgets in collaboration with Finance teams, ensuring optimization and control of IT sector operating expenses.
Act as a key resource and leader in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the third-party risk environment in IT.
Develop financial strategies to increase productivity and optimize IT operational capabilities.
Ensure the relationship and performance of strategic IT suppliers in collaboration with Procurement teams.
Manage contractual agreements and ensure compliance with IT procurement policies.
Optimize IT workforce strategy and strengthen relationships with partners in managing contractual staff augmentation.
Facilitate communication within IT teams to improve collaboration, governance, and planning efficiency.
Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the IT function centrally.
Planning and performance management: Act as the guardian of key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure their alignment with corporate strategy.
IT finance and workforce management: Optimize IT investments and maximize return on capital invested.
Participate in procurement strategy and capacity planning in collaboration with internal partners.
IT asset and supplier management: Provide accurate information on IT assets and contracts to support decision-making.
Support the IT leadership team: Foster the overall development of the team and form a high-performing team in financial management.
Act as the guardian of performance measurement governance for the large IT team and actively participate in communication strategies of these indicators to senior management and the board of directors.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or information technology, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
MBA is an asset.
At least 10 years of experience in financial performance management roles, with budgets over $100M, ideally in IT.
Curiosity and adaptability.
Experience in a heterogeneous environment combining various business expertise and stakeholders.
Excellent business acumen and strong stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence others.
Organizational agility and good networking skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both official languages.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Ability to manage in an uncertain environment and work under pressure.
Intellectual agility – ability to navigate between operational details and strategic concepts.
Understanding of the banking sector is an asset.
