A leading North American railroad company is hiring an Engineering Operations Lead to oversee track safety and engineering operations. The role requires strong safety compliance and team leadership skills, as well as experience in managing a unionized workforce. The role will be partially performed in an office environment and outdoors in various weather and environmental conditions with irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Regular travel (up to 50%) across the assigned territory is required at times without advance notice. The incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress, respond to unexpected and emergency situations, and lift up to 70 lbs.
Safety Compliance
Additional desirable experience includes troubleshooting and problem solving, relevant work experience in similar working conditions or in a regulatory or safety environment, budget management experience, labour relations experience (interpretation of collective agreements, response to grievances, negotiations with union representatives, discipline, etc.), and experience supervising a unionized workforce.
