The East York Tennis Club (EYTC) is a seasonal community tennis club with five hard courts located in a charming residential neighborhood in Toronto. Established in 1950, EYTC has experienced significant growth in membership and programming in recent years.
With over 500 Adult and 300 Junior members, as well as a waiting list of more than 1,700 people, we are seeking a Tennis Professional to collaborate with the Tennis Director and Head Pro in supporting the continued development of our thriving tennis programs. The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to fostering a fun and welcoming environment for all members.
Responsibilities:
The Tennis Professional will report to the Tennis Director and Head Pro and work closely with the Head Pro to:
• Commit to 30–50 hours/week from July to October.
• Lead and assist in teaching Adults, Juniors, Summer Camps, Private Lessons, and Semi-Private Lessons.
• Demonstrate a passion for growing the game and the ability to lead a court confidently.
• Support the Head Pro’s programming vision and lead sessions when required.
• Assist with club events, junior teams, weekly round robins, and other special events.
• Promote and encourage member participation in all tennis programming.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on program or event schedules.
Key Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who are:
• TPA Certified (preferred) and hold valid Professional Liability Insurance (TPA or equivalent).
• Friendly, caring, outgoing, punctual, and reliable.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of tennis and committed to providing a fun and competitive environment for players of all levels.
• Experienced in junior tennis programs and capable of creating an engaging and supportive environment for young players.
• Skilled at ensuring students are actively engaged and feel successful during every session.
Remuneration:
Compensation is competitive and above industry standards for similar positions in the area.
