Job summary

Dollarama in Williams Lake, BC, is looking for an Assistant Team Leader to support store operations, coach staff, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist in daily tasks, manage shipments, stock shelves, help with opening/closing duties, and maintain a safe, clean, organized store. Supervisory experience and flexible hours are preferred.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1 year of relevant retail experience.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability including day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the management team in store operations and staffing.
• Box and unbox daily shipments.
• Stock daily products on shelves.
• Provide good customer service and resolve issues.
• Ensure store safety and cleanliness standards.
• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties as needed.
• Lead manager-on-duty tasks including breaks and attendance.
• Participate in hiring and performance management.

Job description

The Assistant Team Leader provides support to the management team in executing and overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager-on-duty tasks: making sure daily breaks, time and attendance are properly tracked and participating in the hiring and performance management process.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

• Approximately one (1) year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Customer service-oriented.
