The Role:

Our Retail team is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our upcoming Woodgrove Centre location in Nanaimo, BC. Join our growing team at JD Sports Canada. Your main responsibilities include delivering excellent customer experiences, fostering team growth and development, and ensuring operational excellence through managerial tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and employee performance evaluation.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the team provides excellent customer service by coaching, motivating, and driving sales.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction through product knowledge and engagement.
  • Train and develop a team focused on delivering outstanding experiences to the community.
  • Achieve business results and key KPIs.
  • Meet sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual, and operational expectations.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, sales associates, and store leadership.
  • Stay informed about product knowledge and current trends to meet customer needs.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Support key initiatives in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Proactively grow the business through community outreach.
  • Prioritize culture, personal growth, and self-awareness in all activities.
  • Provide exceptional experiences consistently, sharing our products enthusiastically with the community.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Minimum 2 years of retail experience.
  • Passion for streetwear and sneaker culture.
  • Experience supervising, training, and coaching sales associates.
  • Ability to engage customers confidently and deliver elevated experiences.
