The Role:

Our Retail team is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our upcoming Woodgrove Centre location in Nanaimo, BC. Join our growing team at JD Sports Canada! Your main responsibilities include delivering excellent customer experiences, fostering team growth, and ensuring operational excellence through managerial tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and employee performance evaluation.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the team delivers excellent customer service through coaching and motivation while driving sales.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by possessing thorough product knowledge.
  • Train and develop a team focused on delivering outstanding experiences to our community through coaching and feedback.
  • Achieve business results and key KPIs.
  • Meet sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual, and operational expectations.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, sales associates, and store leadership.
  • Learn and share expertise on products and trends to meet customer needs.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming products and trends.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Support key initiatives in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Proactively grow the business through community outreach.
  • Prioritize culture, personal growth, and self-awareness in all actions.
  • Provide exceptional experiences consistently, sharing our products with the community.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Minimum 2 years of retail experience.
  • Passionate about streetwear and sneaker culture.
  • Experience supervising, training, and coaching sales associates.
  • Confident in engaging customers to deliver elevated experiences.
  • Motivated by enthusiasm for interacting with customers and athletic products.
  • Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis and decision making.
  • Resourceful and adaptable in a dynamic omni-channel retail environment.
  • High ethics, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Leadership qualities: inspiring, warm, compassionate, results-driven, and celebratory of successes.
