Job Title: Assistant Station Manager
Job Location: Mirabel, Quebec
Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits offered
Employment Status: Exempt from overtime
Reports to: Station Manager

Position Description:

The Assistant Station Manager is the second-in-command at the Station and will assist the Station Manager in the day-to-day operations of the location. The successful incumbent must possess robust leadership skills, high personal and professional standards, be a hands-on leader/manager, and have a solid knowledge of New and Used RVs, Finance, and Fixed Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational/Resource Management Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Station Manager: Foster a sense of ownership by setting clear expectations, managing resources, assigning responsibilities, and providing coaching while maintaining accountability.
  • Management Decisions: Make decisions in alignment with CanaDream’s policies, procedures, and relevant guidelines to ensure consistency.
  • Daily Leadership: Assist the Station Manager in leading and executing tasks across various departments.
  • Joint Responsibility: Share responsibility for the station's overall performance, profitability, growth, direction, and success.
  • Facility Maintenance: Work with the Executive Assistant to address facility and building maintenance issues in the Station Manager’s absence.
  • Operational Support: Effectively handle day-to-day issues such as operational challenges, late Guests, complaints, vehicle switches, claims, and shop maintenance.
  • Versatility: Perform the daily duties of any other station worker as needed.
  • Asset Management: Ensure the appropriate usage and maintenance of company-owned assets.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Collaborate with the Station Manager to determine staffing requirements and ensure the team is scheduled according to station needs and budgetary constraints.
  • Training and Development: Work with the Station Manager to enforce training programs implemented by Head Office. Actively coach Crew members to continuously improve their skills and contributions to CanaDream.
  • Guest Experience:
  • Monitor, improve, and maintain guest service standards in the day-to-day operation of the Station.
  • Provide rental quotes to prospective guests, process rental and sales deposits, handle rental contracts, sell ancillary products, demonstrate RVs and equipment, and perform damage inspections.
  • Ensure high levels of guest service are maintained.

Skillset, Education & Experience:

  • Education: High School diploma with preference given to relevant post-secondary degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Automotive/RV Industry or Tourism/Hospitality Industry preferred.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in speaking, listening, and writing clearly, thoroughly, and timely.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, shop facilities, and the yard.
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Travel to Head Office, other Stations, and offsite events is required.
