Job summary

A regional health authority in Manitoba seeks candidates for a position requiring completion of high school education and a recognized Health Care Aide Program. Position Overview
Experience
  • Previous experience in cleaning, organizing and equipment inventory would be an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Program required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • On-the-job training includes: An understanding and application of safety principles to self, staff and patients; a general understanding of cleaning techniques as they apply to the various equipment both monitoring and accessories used in the Sleep Disorder Centre; knowledge of how to generate reports and input data into testing units; and, how to track units being sent and returned from patients in the community.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Computer knowledge required.
  • Must be fluent in written and verbal English and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
Physical Requirements
  • Work involves exposure to WHMIS products.
  • Position involves meticulous attention to detail, maintaining a clean, orderly and organized work environment and accuracy of patient records.
  • Individual must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be in physical health without limitations affecting standing, walking or lifting.
  • Position involves some lifting of heavy equipment and supplies.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
