Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Site Superintendent on behalf of our client in residential construction to join their growing team. In this role, you will support the Site Superintendent in the day-to-day operations of residential and commercial construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining quality control across all stages of building construction
• Support compliance with building codes and company safety protocols
• Maintain clean and safe construction sites by managing garbage and debris, snow removal, and general cleanliness of site access points (stairs, ramps, guardrails, sidewalks, driveways)
• Perform minor repairs and installations including :
• Framing touch-ups
• Painting and drywall patches
• Door adjustments and hardware installations
• Window, stair, handrail, flooring, and cabinet touch-ups
• Install and maintain temporary walkways, stairs, and ramps to ensure site safety
• Conduct Weekly Hazard Assessments and immediately report safety concerns to the Site Superintendent and Safety Supervisor
• Support the Site Superintendent in quality control inspections for framing, insulation, foundation, and pre-occupancy
• Communicate with trades and suppliers via phone, email, or in person as directed
• Take on additional tasks as assigned to support the success of the project

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Driver's License (Required)
• 5+ years previous construction site experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Physically capable of performing site maintenance and repairs
