This position is responsible for assisting the Service Department Manager in achieving store and department goals as communicated by the Store Manager and Department Manager. The duties must ensure a quality service approach to employees, customers, and suppliers, in line with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide superior customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
- Assist in developing the team through training, coaching, and recognition while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
- Communicate product information (codes) and corporate policies to the service team effectively.
- Safeguard financial information through document maintenance and retention, overseeing refunds, cashiers, over/short reports, and audit floats.
- Support floor operations including serving customers, cash handling, overrides, breaks, and maintaining department cleanliness.
- Assist with office management tasks such as inventory ordering, scheduling, and payroll.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a post-secondary program in business and at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of Smart Serve or willingness to complete within 6 months.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities when interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining priorities and performance standards.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.

- Providing service to multiple departments under tight deadlines.
- Standing and walking for long periods during shifts.
