Job Description

The Assistant Server supports all areas of guest service delivery, including preparing stations, assisting during meal service, and supporting subsequent meal preparations. They are a vital part of the team, ensuring smooth operations and excellent guest experiences.

  1. Understand and explain the menu offerings to guests.
  2. Assist guests with inquiries and requests in a friendly manner.
  3. Follow policies, procedures, and service standards outlined in the employee handbook.
  4. Perform service steps according to the Job Task Checklist.
  5. Adhere to safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  6. Attend pre-shift, weekly, and monthly meetings for continuous improvement.
  7. Operate outlet equipment proficiently.
  8. Follow the hotel’s recycling and environmental policies.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by management to ensure quality service.
Qualifications
  1. Experience in a restaurant or food and beverage environment.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and team attitude.
  3. Smart Serve certification is an asset.
  4. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  5. OTEC certification is an asset.
  6. Flexible with shifts based on business needs.
  7. Willingness to learn and adapt.
  8. Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
  9. Availability to work varying shifts.
