Job Opening: Assistant Scientist

Location: Swiftwater, PA

We are currently seeking an Assistant Scientist to join our team at the largest vaccine manufacturing facility in the US. The role involves developing manufacturing assets for existing and new vaccines and biopharmaceuticals.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform small-scale experiments involving eggs and flu virus.
  2. Support production of high-growth flu virus reassortants, flu reference antigens, and antisera.
  3. Conduct hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE, chromatography, and PCR analyses.
  4. Manage supplies, materials, and shipping requirements.
  5. Coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
  6. Ship biological samples for sequencing.
  7. Write development protocols and project reports.
  8. Manage samples across labs, manufacturing, and analytical departments.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in life sciences with 1-3 years of experience in an academic or professional lab setting. Candidates with more than 3 years post-graduation, or those pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D., are considered overqualified.

Technical Details:
  • Pay: Up to $55 hourly, depending on experience
  • 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
  • Onsite, Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week, with potential overtime or weekend work
