The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie has been caring for children throughout the Hudson Valley for over 175 years! We strive to empower children and families to achieve optimal health and well-being. We are currently seeking an Assistant Residence Supervisor to work in our Unaccompanied Children Program.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Supervisor assumes leadership responsibilities in the unit as assigned by the Supervisor and acts in place of the Supervisor in his/her absence. The Assistant Supervisor assists in the orientation, supervision, and evaluation of staff, assigns staff job-specific tasks, provides supervision of youth, implements program schedules, and accommodates program activities. At the end of every shift, the Assistant coordinates quality improvement reviews and reports daily activities to the House Supervisor, if not on duty.

Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 12p-10p

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Associates Degree; minimum 2 years child care experience; experience beyond 2 years combined with a High School Diploma or equivalent may be used to offset education requirements.
  • Valid New York State Driver's License with good driving record as determined by the Agency.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English and/or any other language as determined relevant to the UC population.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. if needed for child-sponsor reunification.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong personal interests in a variety of life activities
  • Rated skills, training, or certificates
