Job summary

Chandos Construction in Calgary is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to organize, administer and control project activities under the supervision of a Project Manager. The APM will support the project team and may manage smaller projects under supervision.

You will utilize Chandos systems, ensure safety training, assist with tendering and contracts, and help with site mobilization. A background in construction and an engineering or CET degree is preferred, with 3+ years as a project

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience as a Project Coordinator for a general contractor (GC).
• Solid understanding of all construction trades, safety and construction techniques.
• Able to understand and navigate project plans, specifications and contract documents.
• Basic understanding of the different contractual models and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Organize, administer and control project activities under the direction of a Project Manager.
• Support and collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects.
• Assist in preparing tender documents and contract documents for review.
• Assist with procurement, subcontracting and purchase orders, and with site mobilization.
