Your role

Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager in the Ottawa region with our Federal Government business unit.

In this role, you’ll support experienced project managers and get the opportunity to sharpen your skills on a diverse range of projects varying in scope and complexity. You will hone your project management skills by contributing to various projects from commercial buildings and fit-ups, heritage restoration, high-security facilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide project support to Project Managers by managing schedule updates, maintaining project controls, developing progress reports, and preparing tender and contract documents.
  2. You will be a communication link between the Project Manager, client, and other stakeholders.
  3. Work with a variety of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  4. Assist with formulating and managing project plans.
  5. Maintain various systems for the management and control of the project in a manner compatible with client standards and security protocols for project staff and records management system.
  6. Review and update project costs and schedules.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 2 years of working experience in project coordination, project management, or construction management field.
  2. A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Experience assisting with construction activities, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  4. Must hold or be eligible for Secret level security clearance from the Federal Government.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  6. Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
  7. PMP designation or other industry-recognized credentials are considered assets.
