By managing capital programs and projects as if they were our own, our project management business, and technical experts work with clients to strategize, plan, and implement projects that help them achieve their organization’s objectives. Our award-winning team has managed thousands of projects across all sectors—hospitals, airports, and entire university campuses; infrastructure like mass transit and water-treatment facilities; and energy and resource assignments, from mines to wind farms.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Program Management team. The successful candidate will ideally possess up to five years’ experience in a junior project management role to successfully deliver major capital projects. You will be working within our British Columbia team alongside other project managers, coordinators, engineers, and project controls specialists across different departments. Our current projects include work in transit, advanced education, water, healthcare, power, airports, and civic sectors, as well as coordination of design and design/build assignments.

Our goal is to find a talented and creative Assistant Project Manager to support our senior project managers with day-to-day project work and provide value-added services for our clients.

Superior interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills are essential for effective collaboration with clients and team members. Applying your technical and organizational skills to the project management knowledge areas—such as project integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, HR, communications, risk, and procurement—will be key to your professional development.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Work as part of a team to meet deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
  2. Perform project management activities as assigned by and in support of senior project managers.
  3. Support project management activities in compliance with Stantec’s PM framework, including maintaining current project status, identifying risks, establishing and updating schedules, and tracking project costs.
  4. Gather data for and produce project management reports.
  5. Manage project documentation within BC Hydro’s Citrix platform, ensuring compliance with standards.
  6. Ensure project deliverables meet requirements and facilitate change management processes.
  7. Assist with cost estimation, service requests, and stakeholder coordination.
  8. Follow document control procedures and participate in project meetings, recording minutes and distributing them.
  9. Provide general project and office support and assist in managing multiple projects.
