Job summary

EBC Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, scheduling, budgeting and subcontractor management on Ontario construction projects. You will help ensure safety, timeliness and compliance with contract requirements.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate project tasks, monitor costs, prepare reports, and mitigate risks while maintaining strong client communications. This role requires field site work across Ontario and a proactive leadership approach.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) or combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Related job experience of 8 years with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Previous work experience in Civil Engineering Construction, including dams, powerhouse and generation stations, bridges, infrastructure, and/or heavy civil construction is required.
  • Previous work experience on an OPG project or powerhouse experience would be considered an asset.
  • Advanced skills in communication and problem solving.
  • Initiative and leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Bluebeam.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Skilled in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Bilingualism – French/English – is considered an asset.
  • Must be willing to work on various project sites within the province of Ontario.

  • Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution;
  • Manage and coordinate projects within budgets;
  • Assist the PM in preparing the project cost status reports in terms of percent complete, cost to date and cost forecast;
  • Identify project concerns and alert management of potential risks on assigned projects. Develop a plan to minimize detrimental impacts and mitigate risks;
  • Monitor the overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and take corrective action where necessary;
  • Assist the PM in preparing budgets, forecasts and reducing risk through managing scope and contract change;
  • Ensure that all scope and contract changes are submitted and approved by the client;
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company’s Safety Policy and Program;
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company’s Quality Assurance Program and related requirements;
  • Manpower acquisition, Equipment Management and Material procurement;
  • Assist the PM in the management of all aspects of subcontractor work execution and contracts;
  • Preparation of progress billings;
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding payments;
  • Carry out site safety inspections.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $95,000-$145,000 . Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
