Overview

Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream - CLTA - Neurological Physical Therapy & Multi-Morbidity. Two-year full-time contractually limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream. Appointment is anticipated to begin January 1, 2026 and end December 31, 2028.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for teaching within Unit 4: PHT1104Y Physical Therapy Practice III and PHT1106H Advanced Critical Thinking in Physical Therapy.
  • Engage in education leadership and scholarship aligned with the Department of Physical Therapy’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Develop and deliver content, contribute to curriculum design and teaching innovation.
  • Participate in student remediation and mentoring, faculty development, community engagement, and interprofessional collaboration.
  • Demonstrate teaching excellence through teaching accomplishments, strong evaluations, teaching dossier (including teaching philosophy, instructional experience, curriculum development, and mentoring records) and letters of reference. Teaching-related scholarly accomplishments should be evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations, and endorsements by referees of high standing.
Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant field applicable to Physical Therapy by appointment date or shortly thereafter, with demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
  • Licensed physical therapist or eligible for licensure with the College of Physiotherapists in Ontario.
  • Experience with evidence-informed practice and critical appraisal of scientific content, and at least 5 years of clinical experience enabling teaching in the MScPT curriculum.
  • Experience teaching in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, online material/lectures, and mentoring learners.
  • Commitment to pedagogical inquiry and teaching innovation, with interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.
About the Department and University

Salary

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
