The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Dentistry is recruiting for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Oral Biological and Medical Sciences, supported by the UBC President’s Academic Excellence Initiative. The focus is on oral and systemic microbiome research and their interactions with the host, employing advanced microbiological omics methods.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD with postdoctoral training, have a strong publication record, and demonstrate potential for independent research and teaching excellence in microbiology. Experience in cariology, AI skills, and a DMD/DDS or dental hygiene degree are assets.
The candidate will supervise trainees at all levels, contribute to teaching foundational and oral microbiology, and collaborate with existing research themes. UBC values diversity and encourages applications from underrepresented groups. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are prioritized.
