Position

The School of Engineering at UBC's Okanagan campus invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenure track or tenured) in Water Resources Engineering within its Civil Engineering Program. We welcome applicants with expertise in water resources, including water supply and security, hydraulics, hydrology, and climate change adaptation. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2025, or soon thereafter.

Eligibility and Duties

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a related civil engineering field and be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia. Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising students, and participating in service activities.

Rank-specific Criteria and Salaries
  • Assistant Professor: Demonstrated or potential excellence in research and teaching; must have defended Ph.D. by start date. Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000/year.
  • Associate Professor: Proven teaching success, graduate supervision ability, sustained scholarly activity, and national recognition. Salary range: $160,000 - $200,000/year.
