Job Description | The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of North Carolina Pembroke invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2025. We seek candidates with a specialization in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or Computer Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses across Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Computer Science; advising and mentoring students; engaging in research and scholarly activities; publishing research findings; pursuing external funding; and contributing to professional service. Additionally, they will support service efforts within the department, college, university, and broader community. Qualified candidates should be prepared to teach several courses from the following list: System Administration and Security, System Integration and Shell Scripting, Advanced Computer Systems Security, Network Security, Game Programming, Digital Logic, Data Science, Cybersecurity Management, Digital Forensics, and AI in Cybersecurity. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to design course materials aligned with CAE-CD and ABET accreditation standards, participate actively in learning outcomes assessment, and contribute to organizing activities for student clubs. Effective communication skills-both spoken and written-are essential. Salary and rank will be commensurate with education and relevant experience.
