The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Computer Engineering. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2026.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our departmental strengths. Eligibility and willingness to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario are highly desirable.
We are particularly interested in candidates conducting research in Computer Engineering, focusing on Software Systems and Cybersecurity, including expertise in operating systems, distributed systems, cloud computing, database systems, systems security, network security, blockchain, privacy, and cryptography. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community dedicated to research, teaching, and service.
The candidate is expected to pursue innovative research at the highest international level, establish a strong, externally funded research program, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs.
Evidence of research excellence should include contributions and publications in top journals or conferences, a research statement, representative publications, conference presentations, awards, and top-tier referee endorsements. Teaching excellence will be demonstrated through accomplishments, a teaching dossier, sample materials, evaluations, and other evidence of superior teaching activities, including mentorship and conference presentations.
