University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Economics with a macroeconomics focus. The successful candidate will teach macro theory at the Master’s and PhD levels, contribute to the undergraduate program, and supervise graduate research at North Campus, Edmonton.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Economics (or near completion) and show outstanding potential in teaching and research, including an ability to secure external funding.
Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.
The Department of Economics ( www.ualberta.ca/economics ) in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of July 1, 2027. We are looking for a macroeconomist. Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Economics (or be close to completion) and must demonstrate outstanding potential for teaching and research. The successful candidate will teach macroeconomic theory at the Master’s and PhD levels, and will also be expected to contribute to the undergraduate program, either by teaching existing courses or by developing new undergraduate courses that engage a broad student audience. Responsibilities will include maintaining an active research program, teaching in both undergraduate and graduate programs, and graduate student research supervision.
