The research area is broadly defined, including but not limited to inorganic synthesis, sustainable materials, catalysis, spectroscopy, nanosciences, and energy, including energy storage devices.

The successful applicant will be offered a tenure-track appointment with an expected start date of July 1, 2026 or as negotiated. A PhD degree in chemistry is required, and Post-doctoral experience is strongly preferred.

In accordance with the University’s Equity Plan and pursuant to section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code, the selection will be limited to women and gender diverse peoples. All candidates must self-identify as belonging to one of the designated groups in their cover letter to be considered for this position.

The salary range is $115,000-$125,000, determined by qualifications, experience, and market demand. The university offers a competitive salary, benefits, leaves, and pension plan.

Facilities include NMR spectrometers, mass spectrometers, and shared user facilities at CAMTEC (https://www.uvic.ca/research/centres/camtec/).

The candidate should demonstrate research productivity and potential for international recognition within 5–10 years, establishing an independent, innovative, high-impact, and funded research program. The research should foster collaborations and complement existing university activities. The appointee will also develop as an outstanding teacher and mentor, fostering an inclusive environment.

Applicants must submit:
