We are currently hiring for the position of:
ASSISTANT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, DAVID PECAUT SQUARE
Responsible for assisting the Lead Production Supervisor, David Pecaut Square with the onsite supervision of all equipment, logistical production elements and site management of TIFF Programming, Partner activations and Red Carpet setups on David Pecaut Square.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall include but not be limited to:
Support the Lead Production Supervisor, DPS to follow production schedule and ensure the efficient completion of all production builds and load-ins for DPS
Act as an on-site TIFF representative for logistics and production activities
Support delivery, setup and install of all rental equipment and supplies as required.
Ensure the festival site is built to plan, while maintaining the production schedule.
Maintain and enforce industry leading safety protocols and guidelines across all production teams and partners.
Instruct production assistants and production staff during production builds and strikes, in collaboration with the Lead Production Supervisor, DPS
Assist with on-site coordination of production vehicle traffic
Communicate changes in the production schedule to required parties
Assist with execution of load-in and load-out of sponsor activations, as per the production schedule and operational plans
Assist the Logistics team in the supervision of festival operations, as needed, including Fan Zones, programming activations, security operations, and red carpet activities on David Pecaut Square
Prepare pre-Festival task lists and daily work orders for production assistants in collaboration with Lead Production Supervisor
Ensure that production labour is following safety protocol and meeting industry standard safety guidelines, including breaks, working in pairs, and material handling
Monitor, respond, and escalate safety, security and medical emergencies within Festival Village in accordance with emergency protocols
Support management of break and meal schedules for TIFF David Pecaut Square production staff
Deliver detailed post mortem notes and post-festival reporting on or before September 19th, 2025.
Other duties as assigned
NOTE – this position may involve extended hours during the Festival, September 4 - 14.
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
Job Grade 1
$22/Hour
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, September 19
WORK LOCATION:
Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
Weekly in-office requirements:
Minimum 2 days (November to May)
Minimum 3 days (June to October)
Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
Demonstrated experience in large event or festival production, logistics, or planning.
Experience with indoor and outdoor event setups and operations.
Previous festival, theatre, or large event production experience is an asset.
University degree, college diploma or equivalent work experience
Skill
Ability to take a pre-formulated production schedule and plan and understand the needs of an event on a short timeline
Excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills
Experience working with vendors onsite
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desire and ability to take initiative and coordinate projects
Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high pressure environments
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
Ability to prioritize when faced with tight timelines and competing priorities
Keen attention to detail
Effort
Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high pressure environments
Ability to work irregular hours (overnights, early mornings, weekends) as required.
Being aware of surroundings for extended period of time while operating around vehicles, public, security needs, etc
Providing service to several people, departments or venues
Ability to stand, bend and/or lift for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry between 10-35lbs for long periods of time
Ability to support physical production build of David Pecaut Square as required
