ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL POOL

As a rapidly growing school division in Alberta, Rocky View Schools (RVS) supports the educational needs of more than 29,000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 53 schools to ensure they learn, belong, and succeed.

RVS is situated on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta including the Siksikaitsitapi (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi Pikuni), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney), and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.

  4. Build an environment where learners have an active role and voice
  5. Demonstrate instructional leadership
  6. Demonstrate consistent use of research-informed pedagogy and leadership practices
  7. Create a safe and caring learning environment in which learners are challenged, engaged, supported, and successful
  8. Model personal commitment to learning while fostering a culture of reflection, self-awareness, and growth
  9. Facilitate and promote the development of leadership capacity in others
  10. Demonstrate effective management strategies
  11. Facilitate school-wide opportunities for students to explore, engage, and experience career learning

Your Education and Experience will reflect:

  1. Bachelor of Education
  2. Completion or near completion of a Master's degree in an area relevant to school-based leadership
  3. For internal candidates, completion of Administrative Leadership Program I and II
  4. For external candidates, must have school administrator experience or completed a jurisdictional leadership training program
  5. Possession of a current Alberta Teaching Certificate
  6. A minimum of five years successful teaching experience
  7. Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities
  8. Demonstrated capacity to remain current and lead with information technologies
