Overview

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the Assistant Plant Supervisor will be a results-driven, self-starter who is always looking for opportunities for improvement, and has the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team in providing superior customer service.
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation in the facility.
  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement projects to support objectives.
  • Inventory control.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete the appropriate documentation.
  • Support Supervisor with daily production related events such as production schedule, planning, staffing, blending schedule, loading, all other daily plant activities.
  • Oversee preventative and planned maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of High School or equivalent.
  • Supervisory skills would be required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong can-do attitude and growth mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in manufacturing or fertilizer operations would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work variable hours and days during peak season.
  • Previous exposure to an agricultural environment is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel.
