Job Description

As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations at our seafood processing facility. You’ll work closely with the Plant Manager and production team to maintain high-quality standards, optimize workflows, and lead production staff to meet business objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring proven seafood processing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Plant Manager and work closely with the Production Manager in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring operational efficiency and quality control.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules, balancing material availability and labor requirements.
  • Optimize plant equipment and workforce utilization to increase production capacity and reduce costs.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze production data to improve efficiency and inform decision-making.
  • Maintain high-quality standards while developing and implementing new processing procedures.
  • Assist with logistics for all incoming and outgoing products to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train, develop and collaborate with plant staff to build a strong and capable team.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and implement best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges, proactively addressing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist as needed by operating our forklifts both inside and outside our production and cold storage areas.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in seafood processing industry required.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience with plant operations, or production scheduling.
  • Knowledge of seafood safety regulations and processing best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
