Job description

Position Summary

Oversee staff in the sale of trailer parts to ensure efficient operations. Produce profitable sales for the company while building long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise staff following Maximin’s leadership principles, including:

- Hiring the right staff and retaining them

- Moving those staff to high performance by ensuring they have the correct skills and knowledge, providing training, measuring performance, and providing feedback

  • Monitor and ensure proper handling of expenses such as freight, parts supplies, and warranty write-offs.
  • Provide sales support for sales staff (e.g., on specialized trailer parts), order parts from vendors, invoice, and ensure wrong parts are returned. Oversee daily operation of the parts store and organize payroll for staff.
  • Read and analyze daily parts reports (e.g., financials, daily repair shop). Charge out parts.
  • Answer internal and external customer inquiries. Sell parts to customers from the parts counter as relief for parts staff as required. Oversee annual inventory for the branch, including preparation and cleanup work.
  • Qualifications

    • 3+ years’ experience with heavy-duty truck and trailer parts counter or parts sales.
    • Supervisory experience preferred; experience managing 5+ employees is an asset.
    • Demonstrated customer service skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Leadership skills – motivating, coaching, training.
    • Proficient in MS Word / Excel, email, internet, keyboarding.
    • Ability to work with interruptions in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Numbers-oriented and attention to detail.
    • Mechanical aptitude to understand parts.
    • Ability to lift / carry 50 pounds without assistance.
