About This Position

About the Role
Department Of International Business, Supply Chain Management & Aviation at Mount Royal University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, beginning July 1, 2025. We seek an individual who can contribute meaningfully to the Statistics and Data Analytics program and provide teaching expertise in the area, including courses such as:

  • Statistics and Analytics for Business (MGMT 2262)
  • Business Statistics for Decision Making (MGMT 2263)
  • Data Management and Business Analytics (new course)
  • Advanced Analytics (MGMT 4501)
  • Business Intelligence (MGMT 4511)
  • Applied Analytics - Strategic and Professional Practice (MGMT 5501)
Applicants are encouraged to highlight their qualifications and interests related to these courses.

New faculty are hired into one of two work patterns: TSS (teaching/scholarship/service) focusing on teaching, research, and service; or TS (teaching and service only). There is an option to change work patterns after tenure. The position is under the TSS pattern, with responsibilities including teaching three 3-credit courses per semester, conducting research, and participating in service roles.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Deliver courses, prepare materials, activities, assessments, and maintain the learning management system.
  • Research and scholarship: Develop and execute a research program within an undergraduate university setting.
  • Administration: Manage exams, grades, and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Service: Mentor students, develop curriculum, and serve on committees.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with industry partners and external organizations.
  • EDI-A: Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Qualifications

  • PhD in statistics, data analytics, or a related field (ABD candidates with defense scheduled before start date).
  • Postsecondary teaching experience in statistics/data analytics, preferably in a business context.
  • Emerging or established research program.
  • Experience in data management, visualization, advanced analytics, or knowledge mobilization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
