Le Lunetier Châteauguay is looking for an assistant optometrist to join its dynamic team!
The position of assistant optometrist consists of preparing the optometrist's eye exam by carrying out additional tests with the client. He/she then ensures that the client is taken care of by the right professional.
Main Tasks
Welcoming the customer:
- Direct the customer according to the reason for their presence
- Announce the customer's arrival to the contact person
- Ensure that the customer is taken care of
Preparation for the day:
- Open the machines for additional tests to the eye exam
- Ensure that the testing room is ready for the reception of the client
- Enter the client's contact details into the software
Administration:
- Enter or update the client's contact information in the computer system
- Make appointments for optometrists and opticians
- Answer the phone, screen calls
- Take messages and forward them to the contact persons
- Provide basic information on the services offered by telephone or to people who come to the clinic
- Make appointments for deliveries of ready orders
- Ensure that customer calls are made, within the appropriate time frame, when their glasses are ready
- Make the various payments: examination, form, deposit or full payment of orders for glasses, contact lenses and various products
- Close the cash register at the end of the day: record the money in the cash register for deposit purposes, pay the optometrists if applicable and fill out the sheet provided for this purpose. The employer will use it for the weekly and monthly accounting of optometrists' fees.

- Help in the weekly preparation of optometry files (as needed)
- Help with pre-tests for eye exams (as needed)
- Take charge of collecting frames to be donated to Groupe Lion and Optométristes sans frontières
- Refill missing frames on the displays
- Refill missing cases, wipes and bottles of cleaners at the reception
- Make a monthly inventory of old orders in the main cabinet
- Help opticians with the mail
- Ensure the supply of necessary stationery: eye exam files, business cards, etc.
- Ensure the supply of sanitary products: toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, etc.
- Ensure the supply of disinfection products
- Ensure the cleanliness of the office on a daily basis: vacuum, empty the trash, clean tables, shelves, glasses, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.

Required knowledge:
- Proficiency in written and verbal French
Training and requirements:
- Secondary school diploma (an asset)
